The Decree No:29 of 24 Aug.2015 issued by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid-Vice President ,Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai specifies cases of administrative and obligatory impounding of vehicles by Dubai Police;

1.Recreatiounal motorcyclist caugh riding on paved roads.

2.Drag racers and vehicles driven recklessly or poses a danger to others,or tries to evade the Police.

3. Illegally modified vehicles with the aim to increase the speed or loud noise.

4. Vehicles with trafic fines exceeding Dh.6 000 ,or if they are being driven after expiration of their license for a period of three months without renewing and without acceptable excuse.

5.Vehicles ,which participate in a races on the road without prior permission from the Police.

The Decree regulates the disposition of impounded vehicles and specifies the fees for impounded vehicles,which amount to Dh 100 000 for vehicle which participate in race on the road without permission and DH 50 000 for recreational motorcycle riding on a paved road. The Decree authorises Dubai Police to action impounded vehicles as per provisions stipulated in Law No: 23/2015 on the disposition of seized vehicles in Emirate of Dubai if a period of not less than 3 months from the date of impounding elapses without owners taking necessary procedures to reclaim them.The Decree also states a non Emirati drivers of a heavy-duty trucks will be deported if they cross a red light.
